Slade Wilson

Wilson was destined for the military from day one. His father, uncles and grandfather all served before him and it is a long standing family tradition.

He survived many conflicts, engagements and battles but none so devastating as the events in 1983 when the Beirut barracks were bombed. Wilson remained buried under concrete, dirt and the bodies of his fellow soldiers for almost two days and suffers from claustrophobia and PTSD as a result.

He was honorably discharged afterwards, but couldn't fit back into normal civilian life. The strain ended his marriage to his childhood sweetheart, whom he rarely saw since he was often deployed anyway. He only regrets not keeping in better contact with his kids, although both are married with children of their own now.

Wilson took up being a guide for adventurers and hunters in the Rocky Mountains. He is quite the marksman and has hunted mule deer, elk and pronghorn near Colorado.

But after the recent events were the planet seemed to rebel against its inhabitants and the mountains began to overflow with snow. Once communications were lost in the first week Wilson took his faithful old Chevy laden with supplies and headed for California, where his ex-wife and children lived in search of his family.

Blizzard like conditions and rock slides were just the start of his problems, delaying Wilson in what should have been a long but simple day trip. California had been wrecked by earthquakes, and looters made it dangerous to approach strangers without being suspicious.

Wilson will try and help those that he encounters, but finding his family in the long run still comes first.
